Convert Photos to PDF on iPhone X, 8, 8 Plus – iOS App Weekly

You may want to convert photos to PDF on iPhone sometimes. Method 1. Convert pictures to PDF using Files app

Since iOS 13, Apple introduced the Files app and it has become very useful. We can use it to access external storage, scan documents, compress files, convert files to PDF and so many more. We can use it to convert photos, image files, screenshots to PDF files easily. If the pictures are saved in the Photos app. Find and share it, then choose Save to Files, choose a folder to save it. Fire up the Files app on your iPhone, browse to the location where the photos, images are saved.

Long press on the image thumbnail to pop up the contextual menu and choose Create PDF from the bottom of this menu list. A PDF file with the same name will be created and saved to the same folder as the original image file in Files app on your iPhone.

Merge multiple photos into a single PDF file

If need, you can even use the Files app to combine two or more image files into one PDF file on your iPhone. Again share or copy the images files from other apps on your phone to the Files app. Then launch the Files app to find them. Tap the Select button at the top right corner, then choose the More button (three dots) at the bottom right corner to bring up the options at the lower section on your phone screen. Choose Create PDF. A PDF file with the same name will be created and saved to the same folder as the original photos in Files app on your iPhone.

Note that the PDF file size might be very large. So double check the file size in Files app before you send or transfer it to other people or devices. The Files app also gives users the ability to zip or compress files and documents, but it seems can not help us reduce down file sizes of those media files, such as photos, videos.

Method 2. Convert Photos to PDF via Books – the Easiest way

The stock Books app on your iPhone 8, 8 Plus or iPhone X has the hidden PDF converter that allows you to turn photos, images, or pictures into PDF file documents on your iPhone with ease.

Launch the Photos app on your iOS device. Select the photo you wish to convert to PDF. Tap on the Share button at the bottom left corner, you will then see the pop-up menu at the lower section of your iPhone screen. You will find Messages, Mail, Add to Notes and other options to share the selected photo. Select Save PDF to iBooks from the menu to instant convert the picture to PDF file and import it to the iBooks app at the same time.

  1. If you didn’t see the option to save image as PDF, after selecting the photo and pressing the “Share” button, scroll horizontally through the share options to show more options and find the “Save PDF to iBooks” button.
  2. If you want to batch convert multiple photos to PDF on iPhone, tap Select, choose all photos you like to convert to PDF, then press the Share button and choose Save PDF to iBooks option to convert multiple pictures to PDF.

Method 3. Convert Photos to PDF via Print – a hidden feature in iOS

The above two methods can help you convert pictures to PDF file on iPhone, however you will find they do not allow you to select, copy or edit the text on the PDF document.
