‎Duplicate Photos Finder

My scan found 1,600 duplicate photos on my computer. I went through them all, made some minor adjustments, but was pleased to find that a good 90% of the time, Duplicate Photos Finder had done its job well of picking the best version of each photo to keep. There were even some instances where there were pics snapped a second or two apart, and it was smart enough to see the similarities, and suggest keeping the best one of the bunch.

Unfortunately, that’s where its usefulness ended. Clicking on “Trash Marked” files just left my computer hanging. I left it for hours, hoping maybe the computer’s processes would catch up to the app’s command (1,600 is a lot!), but the progress bar never moved.

I’m on a 2020 MacBook Air with the M1 processor. It’s blazing fast at most things, but something about this just stumped it. Super disappointing, as I’m almost out of space on my SSD and I’d LOVE to get rid of all those pics to free up some room.
