Geo Challenge App Review | Making Life Blissful

Don’t you just love it when you find a good app for your kids?  I bought a great app called Geo Challenge–Flags, Maps and Geography Learning Game for Kids.  I love the apps that teach them as well as entertain them.  Somehow I feel like it’s worth the money and the space on my device (and there’s a lot less guilt when I let them play it while I’m talking on the phone).

The Geo Challenge app lets your kids play games that help them learn the countries of the world, their flags, and little facts about each one. It’s newly improved from the earlier version. Geo Challenge is a good name for it, because it’s not super simple. It definitely challenges them. It’s great for children about 6 and up. They need to be able to read and memorize. It’s a perfect way to help them with what they are learning in school (my older kids can use it to get ready for their geography tests).

It has this cool spinning globe, so your child can “travel” to different places in the world.  As they click on a flag they can learn the basics about each country.

There’s a couple of games in this app:

*puzzles of the geography of each area (helps them memorize)

*a flag quiz

*a flag reviewer (helps them learn the flags for the quiz)

*geography quiz

I had fun trying to remember my own geography skills as I played it with my kids.  Good for the brain.

The motivating part of this app is that your child gets to make their own passport and suitcase.  They get stickers for each area they pass off.  They have to get ALL the answers right to pass, so it really makes them earn it.  They also get cool pictures and videos of them “traveling” to different places.

It uses their own passport picture to show all the places they’ve been.  My 1st grader loved this part and wanted to play it some more just to get more pictures of herself.  They can fill up a whole photo album.

So this a good app.  It costs $2.99 on iTunes (or there is a free trial version as well).  It’s a great way to get them knowing a little about the world they live in.

Hope this helps.  I know I like to know as much as possible about an app before I buy it.
